How Our Syndicates Work

When you enter ownership with The Racehorse Company you own your share of the racehorse in perpetuity.  All our horses run in our well known blue and yellow colours, (Ownaracehorse Ltd) and you are the full proprietary owner of your share of the horse.

We will charge you an up-front fee for your share of the horse and then a set monthly cost for all training and racing fees.  There will not be any further costs charged.

By conducting the management of the racehorses in this way, the client enjoys the ownership of the horse with a specific budget for its costs.  All winnings accrued to a shareholder account and paid at the end of each season - always November.
 

  Benefits

As a proprietary shareholder you will benefit from the following:

  A free* Owners badge every time the horse runs;
  Unlimited access to your own online 'Horse Management' system;
  Ability to visit your horse on a regular basis at the training yard; 
  A share of prizemoney directly proportioned to your share;
  A named Syndicate Manager with whom you can converse on a regular basis;
  Full race tactics and trainer information always available for every run;
  You may contribute to the horses race plans if you wish;
  Benefit or proceeds from the sale of the horse are paid according to your percentage;

*10% shares guarantee a free owners badge, 5% shares are guaranteed an owners badge, but it may be discounted rather than free every time the horse runs.

We are full-time syndicate managers, so to successfully profit from our business we have to select decent bloodstock at the right price.  With all of our horses we aim to not only provide fun and excitement at the racecourse, but also to improve them.


  Payments

We ask for a credit/debit card payment for the up-front cost of the share, followed by a recurring monthly payment, usually a standing order, but can be a credit or debit card payment.

The monthly payment will be a set amount taken from your bank account, a credit or debit card once a month.  Please note that we will charge a 3% handling fee on all credit cards, but debit cards and standing orders are free from this surcharge.

  Prizemoney

Prizemoney is accrued to your winnings account throughout the season and then paid by cheque at the end of the season - always November 1st.  Your prizemoney will not be subject to any deductions other than a small percentage if your horse wins in top flight races - you will receive the exact amount as provided by Weatherbys in relation to your percentage owned.
