Description and Race Plans |

Poppy's Purse was purchased at the Tattersalls Yearling
sales in mid October. She is a well put together individual
and stood out from the crowd for both her temperament and her
forward nature. This filly's mare tends to produce decent
offspring when put to a speed influence, and the Indesatchel
- Danehill Dancer - Danehill line has plenty to offer in
terms of sprint ability.
However, it was this yearlings physical wellbeing which
impressed Ollie Pears. He was impressed with how well the
filly walked and she is exactly the type which should make a
2YO. Only a small percentage of the yearlings which go
through the sales have a strong appearance of making an
'early type' but Ollie believes this filly has all the
hallmarks of being sharp.
She has a good, fluid walk and has been well handled to
date, being relaxed and used to human contact both around
the yard and in her box.
Ollie said "She stood out amongst a group of late developing
types at Tattersalls and I expected to go much higher for
her than I had to. She is very well developed given her
age, and has a very good muscle base to work on. She'll get
bigger and develop further over the next five months, and
I'm hoping she will be one of my first 2YO runners in 2012."
Ollie added "I'm really pleased with the group of horses
I've come away with from the Doncaster and Tattersalls sales
- and out of the five I've brought in so far she is is
definitely the most forward. It's still early to say
exactly what she will be, but all the indications are that
she will be a sprinter and will be a proper 2YO."
The filly was named Poppy's Purse, being by Indesatchel and
out of Prospering. She was also named at the time of year
where the British Legion have their annual Poppy appeal.
Poppy's Purse is now at Ollie's yard in Malton, and will be
assessed and then broken during the latter part of 2011,
before going into full training before Christmas. Even
really tough types for next season will start their 2YO
career until May 2012 at the earliest, however, we will
start reporting on the fillys progress from Autumn 2011, so
that we can capture the lunging, breaking and first rides up
the gallops for shareholders.
She will then start her racing career from Malton. If everything
goes to plan, and the filly is far enough forward both
mentally and physically, she will have her racing name
registered, have plenty of gallop experience up the 'Wold
Gallop' and be stalls trained prior to March, with the
intention that she will be ready to race once the 2012 turf
season starts in earnest in May. |

We find that most shareholders
will either want to speak to us or find out further
information about the racehorse before they join the
syndicate. We urge potential syndicate to call us and
get their questions answered - so that you can speak to the
syndicate manager and understand exactly what to expect from
your ownership. You will not get any sort of hard
sell, we would rather you know exactly who we are, what we
will deliver and what we expect from the horse, rather than
be disappointed after a few months.
Either call 0845 8381532 for an informal chat or to email us

we send you an Ownership contract which lays out your full
